Often people who are coming to Cambodia and wish to visit us at Kampuchea House ask what items they can bring in their luggage. As a result we have put together the following list of items that we need in order of necessity. Please note this list will alter as our requirements vary from time to time. To assist you we currently have girls aged years 4 (1), 9 (1), 10 (1), 11 (1), 12 (1), 13 (2), 14 (2), 16 (2); and boys aged years 6 (1), 7 (2), 11 (2), 13 (2), 14 (1), 15 (1). (Figure in brackets show number of children in that age range). - Leather sandals/crocs for both girls and boys. - Clothing such as T shirts, shorts, skirts and dresses for girls and T shirts, shorts and long pants for boys. - General medical supplies – band aids; elastoplast plasters, bandages and tape; headache tablets; cold & flu tablets for children; anti-diarrahoea tablets. - Lego blocks – the children love playing with these but we have very limited quantity. - Early years English texts and readers. - Combs/brushes for hair. - Deodorant for teenage girls/boys. - Nail polish - does not have to be expensive brand! - Toys especially dolls and construction toys. - Tooth brushes and toothpaste. At the present time we have more than sufficient pens, pencils, crayons, erasers, etc.Also we currently have sufficient supplies of underwear both for girls and boys. If you are unable to bring items with you (due to weight constraints etc.) we suggest buying either fresh fruit and/or UHT milk when in Siem Reap, both of which contribute to the health of the children and are very much enjoyed by them. We are discouraging sweets. Alternatively, cash donations are always extremely welcome! |
