Fundraiser for Duong, Peach and Sophary Report |
St. Kilda Bowling Club was the venue for this fundraiser night for the three girls organised by their sponsors Jenny Jobst and her family. A warm night ensured a good turnout and with the bar doing lots of trade and great music to dance to a fun night was had by all who attended. A huge range of attractive items for auction also saw lots of spirited bidding. We are very pleased to report approximately $5,000 was raised on the night. This amount was matched by a donation from Jenny and John and we thank them most sincerely for their kind generosity and also for organising the night.
On behalf of Jenny we would like to thank Claudia Guersenzvaig who organised all the fantastic auction items which raised a large proportion of the takings; Donna Aranyi who MCd the proceedings; Sarah Caroll singer /songwriter who entertained us for the second time, as did Dennis Trevarthen who organised some fabulous & accomplished blues musicians going by the name of King Size Five who provided the best music we've listened and danced to for a long time. Also to Jenny’s friends and family who kept the food coming, and to the local community whose enthusiasm and encouragement for the event and support for Kampuchea House made the organisation of the event a pleasure.
