Siem Reap Excursion

Recently six of our older girls and boys who will be finishing high school during the next year or so were taken into Siem Reap for an educational tour to familiarise themselves with the town.  (Usually trips into Siem Reap are very short with no time to look around).  Saturday night was dinner at a cafe in The Alley; a walk down Pub Street to the night market and a fish massage. Sunday morning was breakfast at JoeToGo (cooked by Duong who works there); then followed a trip to the National Museum for an hour or so which they thoroughly enjoyed; a trip to Lucky Mall bookshop to choose some books for themselves; then a wander around the supermarket looking at all the different products on display.  Soma, the owner of Encore Angkor Guesthouse, had kindly offered to let them have a swim in the guesthouse pool so this was great fun.  Lunch at a local cafe for some much needed Khmer food and rice and then back to the orphanage mid afternoon.  It was a very good experience for them to see different places and people and all of them said how much they enjoyed it.  Thanks to Ruth Murray for funding this excursion.  Pictured below are Chinh, SameanYa, Sinan, Yet, Sokhon, Sor, Soma and Will Murray.
