Visitors/Volunteers

VISITORS

We welcome visitors to Kampuchea House and are more than happy to show you our achievements to date. However visitors must be accompanied by one of our office staff or a committee member if available at the time.  Visitors are not permitted to visit the orphanage without prior notice and unaccompanied.  Visitors are required to complete a "Visitor Compliancy Agreement" form on arrival, and show photographic ID i.e. driver's license or passport.  Also please be aware that, although our office and transition house are located in Siem Reap, the main orphanage is located approximately 45 minutes drive by car from the office.  (Hiring a car and driver costs approximately US$35 for a round trip and covers the driver waiting at the orphanage for around 2-3 hours).

Prior to leaving for Cambodia we strongly recommend you contact Belinda Lightfoot (our Secretary) at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with details of the dates you wish to visit and the number of visitors, whether you require transport to the orphanage etc.  She will coordinate with our local office staff and endeavour to make the arrangements that suit you.  Please note that our staff have duties which need to be attended to in the office and other commitments which impact on their availability to assist visitors.  The office is open Monday to Friday – not weekends - so visits on Saturdays and Sundays are not encouraged.  Also be aware that December, January and February, and school holidays, are particularly busy times with many visitors coming to the orphanage.  We are often unable to arrange for visits at short notice during these times.

If you are a member/supporter, or associated with any of the schools/organisations who support Kampuchea House, we are more than happy to make all the arrangements for your visit such as organising transport etc.

Please note the children attend school 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday with one group of children attending school in the morning and the other group in the afternoon.

In 2012 the office is closed for the following holidays, and the orphanage will also be closed for the majority of these holidays.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it advising the duration that you are able to volunteer and we will let you know if we have any vacancies available.
